About Dota 2
Dota 2 is an online battle arena video game by Valve Corporation and is a sequel
to Defense of the Ancients (DotA). DOTA was a community-created mod for Blizzard
Entertainment's Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion pack, The Frozen Throne.
Dota 2 is played in matches between two teams of five players. Each team occupies
and defends their own separate base on the map. Each of the ten players independently
controls a character or "hero". Each hero has unique abilities and differing styles
of play.
During a match, players collect experience points and items for their heroes to successfully
defeat the opposing team's heroes in player versus player combat. A team wins by
being the first to destroy the "Ancient", which is a large structure located in the
opposing team's base.
From and esports perspective, Dota 2 events are the most rewarding in terms of the
available prize money for the participating esports athletes.
Dota 2 Betting Markets
Dota 2 is not an esport that tends to have a lot of available betting markets. For
the most part, betting markets are limited to the 2-way match winner, sometimes called
the Money Line.
